Ekipa is an Agile consultancy in Southeast Asia, working with enterprises across Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Since 2016, Ekipa has helped organisations improve how their teams work, how leaders manage change, and how strategy turns into day-to-day action. That work is grounded in Agile, business agility and innovation, with a practical focus on the people responsible for carrying change through.
Where the name comes from
“Ekipa” means “Team” in many languages. That idea has shaped the company from the beginning: people do better work when they can make decisions together, take ownership and contribute their strengths to a shared goal.
The story so far
The foundation
Hugo Messer built Bridge Global, an early adopter of agile in distributed engineering. That way of working became the basis for Ekipa.
Ekipa begins in Indonesia
Ekipa Agile Consultancy was founded in Indonesia by Hugo Messer.
Singapore launches
Ekipa Consultancy Singapore launched with Paul Hutton and Hugo Messer as partners.
Malaysia launches
Ekipa Consultancy Malaysia launched with Paul Hutton and Hugo Messer as partners.
AI and data
Ekipa added AI Strategy, AI Enablement, Data Modernization and AI Delivery, supported by Bridge Global engineering.

Agile people can embrace any technology.
Every few years, a new shift arrives that an organisation’s teams have to absorb: a new operating model, a new market, and now AI. The companies that come through it well have people who can decide quickly, work in short cycles, and change how they operate.
AI raises the stakes of that. Used well, it lets a team do work that used to take far more people, or work that never got done at all. Used carelessly, with a tool and a login but no workflow around it and no rules on what it can touch, it adds risk without the outcomes. Ekipa’s view is that the technology is the easy part. Getting an organisation to work differently is the harder part, and it’s what Ekipa does.
